360 degree photos and videos are growing in popularity on social networking sites like Facebook and YouTube.  Now you can make your own photo at your location and share it simply by using your smart phone!

Download the Google Street View app on your smartphone to take the first step in creating your own 360 degree photo.

To get started, select the  Screen Shot 2016-09-29 at 12.06.24 PM.png located at the bottom right hand corner of screen.

Follow the directions on the screen and place the circle located in the middle of your screen around the orange dots located on the screen. Be sure to remain in the exact same spot while doing this.  Otherwise, your image will look distorted.

As soon as checkmark at the bottom of the screen appears “green” you are finished. (Note: If you’re unable to get to the green check mark, point your camera up and down to make sure that you didn’t miss any orange dots.)

Once finished taking the photos, select your project located at the bottom of the screen on the homepage and click “publish to Google Maps” Then, “Publish.” (Note: it may take a few minutes for the street view to be processed by the app before you can publish it.)

Below is an example of a 360 photo that was created using the app.
